When I graduated, I had zero clue about what being an engineer meant or where my career would take me. As a first-gen college grad and the very first engineer in my family, I struggled. It was like stepping into a whole new world! And the worst part? I had no one to turn to except my coworkers for advice.
Let's talk about the elephant in the room: the lack of representation. It hit me hard, especially as a Latina woman in a male-dominated industry. I thought if I worked hard and met expectations, promotions would magically happen.
Ha, wishful thinking! Turns out, there's a lot more to it than meets the eye.
After two decades of navigating corporate life and gathering wisdom from others, I decided to write a book. It's a guide for all those professionals who, just like me, faced roadblocks in the workforce.
